Samsung buys cheap RAM? Samsung makes their own RAM, own CPU, own display, and own camera sensor. Chinese buys Samsung rejects after Apple buys second best from Samsung, LOL.

Chinese phones are inexpensive because they steal the technology. A company can save tons of money when they dont have to invest in research and technology.

Chinese phones are cheap because they may not be as reliable. Take OPPO for example. Phones may look great and specs will be Good but after a while they will get slow and may have issues. High end brands such as Samsung and Apple may cost you more than usual, but their build quality and reliability is far better. Sure a 200 dollar Samsung phone may not do crazy but I assure you it will last you a long time even if the specs aren't that great. Like if you agree

With some parts such as Flash you can reprogram the device to omit the bad portion of the device. RAM is typically designed as a square matrix of memory cells and typically rows or columns go bad and are spared out by replacing it with back rows/columns which are wired in with lasers. If the memory still has bad cells or weak cells after all the bad rows and columns have been lasered away, possibly the memory could have error correction or possibly the memory could be accessed through a memory-paging unit which would allow the CPU to ignore any bad paging blocks of RAM, if the errors appear in only a few percent of the blocks of RAM. Then your 4 GB phone might actually be 3.99 GB or whatever. You might be able to buy 5 Xiaomi phones and see in Android that the amount of RAM is not exactly the same on all the different phones.

As a native Chinese and a tech lover, here's some more info I would like to share with you guys. Vivo/Oppo are expensive because they paid a looooooot to those super stars for marketing and they opened tons of retail stores offline(Which mean money money). Unlike Xiaomi/Huawei/Honor/OnePlus/Meizu/Smartisan, these 2 companies are more rely on offline selling instead of online selling. Huawei is expensive due to It's huuuuge R&D teams and payment for patents(yes, the Chinese patent law is really imperfect, but Huawei do have tons of patents). And Huawei's fellows have super high wages and their competation is as "brutal" as their wages. Check out their new Mate 20 Pro phone, it will surprise you with It's spects and price. Xiaomi is cheaper because it fundamentally relies on online selling /flash selling. Also, they truely doesn't make profit out of their phones, but from It's "ecological chain". For example, if you want to enjoy the smartness of Xiaomi AC, Xiaomi TV and Xiaomi lights, you need a Xiaomi phone; if you already have a Xiaomi phone, you will concerning about the Xiaomi appliances because this combination will bring your life to a new level of convenience. I'm currently using a Xiaomi Mix 2S, It works really good(except the design, I think they copied IPhone's design ). Xiaomi ecological chain is a big treasure whole, Cell phone is just the entrance. OnePlus is a company that more relies on foreign markets instead of the Chinese market. It's not super famous in China, but their phones are pretty impressive and durable. Smartisan is a interesting company. The review of their products are super duper polarized. this company are famous from It's design, software invitations and funny CEO╮(‵▽′)╭.

The non-existence of patent does not just apply on Shenzhen but it applies to the whole country itself, they even copied Eiffel Tower and London Bridge so that their people will choose their own country and so their own country will earn a revenue instead of London or Paris earning a tourism income. Patent should not really by a thing to be honest, it just prevents us from making an advance, but fir the Chinese hopefully they should atleast credit the original artist of the design they copied.

Second worst is Samsung. They spent a lot for advertisement thus why their phones are more expensive. Xiaomi quality speaks for itself and promotes their phones, without the need of tons of money for advertisement. Stop making stories up your sleeve, attention whore.

i was thinking that maybe there should be a business model that did away with all advertising and marketing entirely. The company would consist of nothing but engineers and a few librarians and a small art department, that would find A CUSTOMER ( just one ) after you've developed a product to Proof of Concept ( Hardware & accompanying software ) then sell it to the ONE Customer that it's a perfect fit for. The Art Department would create a minimal all facts, all functionality, no pretty girls or mountain roads, that would KILL ( The good kind ) The Sales Pitch ! Then you'd sell them leasing rights to your patent and eternal technical support. Essentially, you'd just be selling them the Idea.

China has kept all of the blueprints they have made for everything and they will be the best and cheapest phone makers, no one will be able to compete! iPhone has already fallen to third place on world sales from a phone company called Huawei and yep you got it, Chinese tech company!

  44. David of Yorkshire

    David of Yorkshire14 วันที่ผ่านมา

The Chinese have the right innovative idea, you don't progress by restricting development, you innovate by improving on the other guy. That's why China is advancing so rapidly in every sector and why the west under its restrictive practices have become stagnant and falling behind. In the west the objective is to restrict to make money. But that has the consequence of being left behind. Patents and copyright should not exist, and any company that says that they would no longer innovate is lying. A company exists on the ability to be better than the rest, and if they can improve on their competitors then they will, but the time they sit back and take in the profit will be much shorter, making them eager to advance again quicker. We would have smaller companies able to adapt quickly and able to take leaps into unfamiliar territory to make that big break. Now days in the west they just spend years pushing a minor improvement on an already existing patent, to re-patent it again. Competition breeds innovation. These multi-billion companies wouldn't exist, they wouldn't be able to take in the revenue before another company improves on their product. This would force a different approach. The cheaper parts may not meet the high speed/heat/power requirements expected by the premium brands but if you run it slower or at a lower/high voltage it works fine. That's where the same reject chips can be used in other products. Instead of running a 3Ghz chip run it at 2.2Ghz and it's fine. Instead of expecting over clocking make sure it isn't and it still works adequately. In reality what is the difference if a 3Ghz and a 2.2 GHz chip when the use is in a limited function device like a phone or mobile device? Sometimes it's all unnecessary one-upmanship just to brag yours is faster, as if a fraction of a second matters that much.

It costs Apple $80 to make a phone, maybe $10 of each sale is marketing & $20 goes to keeping the physical stores open. They could sell their phones for a quarter of the price and still make boat loads of cash but they operate under the idea that higher price = prestige = more demand = more profit, that is, until someone comes along and steals all their customers like now. The spyware stuff is absolute horseshit, Google has the most intrusive 'spyware' they just call it a 'user data agreement', Apple probably has spyware but we can't even check because they keep their phones on total lock down, they can't even stand it when you jailbreak their phones, these Chinese companies 1) aren't interested in your data 2) make no attempt to stop users from rooting and using a completely different OS. Every single person commenting is probably using an Intel/AMD CPU which all have literal hardware backdoors through their management engine chips that go directly to government agencies, you know it's fucked when media can make people believe their safest option to keep their privacy is to buy devices with actual RAT chips in them.

I have owned HTC, LG, Samsung, iPhone, etc. A couple of years ago I decided to say "fuck it" and try a cheap Xiaomi. It was the 5s Plus model for $300, brand new. Full flagship specs for $300? Like I said, "fuck it", let's give it a shot. Guess what? It was, by far, the best phone I ever owned. I went back to the US to visit and decided to buy the Google Pixel, since it was supposed to be the ultimate. The result? I switched back to my Xiaomi Mi 5s Plus. I then was given an iPhone 7 Plus (when it was current) as a gift. Not wanting to insult the person who got it for me (my wife...), I got rid of my Google Pixel and my beloved Xiaomi... Result? I was NEVER happy with that iPhone... ever... I FINALLY switch back to Xiaomi, a few days ago. I went for the newest model of Mi (since I loved the 5s Plus), the Xiaomi Mi 8. Oh my God ... I've fallen in love with Xiaomi, all over again. It's Xiaomi Dejavu.

I'm sure that it helps quite a lot when you have a slave labor pool of 1.5 billion to draw upon for the manufacture of the phone. Especially if they are conditioned from birth to be happy, hard-working slaves. That's the difference between their slaves and Apple's slaves over in Taiwan. The Taiwanese slaves are not happy slaves, and tend to commit suicide by jumping off the roofs of the iPhone assembly plants. (15 employee suicides in 2010, alone!) So Apple has additional expenses, like for cleaning up the mess afterwards, and then for the installation of all those nets to catch the would be suicides before they hit the ground.

Advertising is likely the largest single expense item on the income statement for both Samsung and Apple. Xiaomi (and other chinese brands) send phones to any schmuck that wants to do a review, social media is (almost) free and effective. I bought a xiaomi mi 6. I keep reading about this advertising "issue" with xiaomi phones and it seems to me that it's being somewhat misrepresented. First, there are no advertisements randomly playing on the phone, on any screen. Second, there are no adds in system apps or utilities. The Themes, Music and Video apps have a brief add screen that pops up when you open the app. It goes away after a second or two and then it's on to the actual app, somewhat annoying but... Any Android phone I've ever owned has had apps that were paid for by advertising. I think most android users install apps from time to time because an app/function they want isn't on their phone and the only way to get it is to put up with adds or pay for the app. In the past I've found that even basic apps were missing and I had to go to the google store to get what I need. On my Mi 6 I've had little reason to install playstore apps. Things like a bar-code scanner, already there (no adds), a calculator that does conversions for currency, measurements etc... already on the phone (no ads). So really it's all relative. If you want a phone with guaranteed no adds, buy an Apple. Oh wait, you just helped pay for the 10 billion dollar ad budget, I guess that's the price you pay.
